Note: automatic captions are still in beta, so we'd love your feedback! Feel free to email us with your thoughts. Captions are available in English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, Italian, German, and Russian. If there's another language you'd like supported, we'd love to hear that too!

Selecting a scene design to reveal the caption editor:

To create a scene with captions, first create a scene! You can do so by clicking on the large green + on the canvas, or by dragging and dropping the media content that you want captioned onto the canvas.

If you choose to create a scene by clicking the large green + icon, you'll want to select one of the scene designs under the Automatic Captions header:

Once you've picked the right scene design, drag and drop your uploaded video onto that scene.

If you drag and drop your media onto the canvas to create your scene, you'll need to click on Swap design to ensure that the right scene design is applied. Look for the options listed under Automatic Captions:

There are 3 designs to choose from in most templates, but they may look slightly different depending on your color palette or other design choices.

Generating captions:

Once you've selected the appropriate scene design and added your media, we'll generate captions for you automatically! This can take a minute or two, so please be patient:

Editing captions:

Once the captions are generated, you'll want to go through and double check the spelling, punctuation, and overall accuracy. Our robots are pretty good, but not perfect!

You can preview the video by clicking on the play button on the right side of the scene. To skip between caption blocks, you can use the forward/back buttons next to the play button, or click on a caption block along the bottom timeline:

To edit captions (or the speaker's name, depending on the design you selected), just click in and type like you normally do!
