# Configure Lumen5 MCP for ChatGPT

## What does the Lumen5 MCP do?

The Lumen5 MCP allows you to create videos directly from within ChatGPT.

You can draft a script with ChatGPT, then ask it to turn that script into a Lumen5 video. ChatGPT sends the script to Lumen5 and creates the video in your workspace. You can also include instructions about the template, voice or style you'd like.

The video usually takes a couple of minutes to generate. Once it's ready, ChatGPT replies with a link so you can open and edit it in Lumen5.

## How to set it up

1. Go to [chatgpt.com](https://chatgpt.com) and click **Plugins** in the left sidebar.

2. In the **Search plugins** bar, type **Lumen5** and click **Lumen5 Video Creator**.

3. Click **Install plugin**.

4. A new tab opens to connect your Lumen5 account. Sign in to Lumen5 if prompted, check that the account shown is the one you want to use, then click **Authorize**.

5. You'll return to ChatGPT and see a **Lumen5 Video Creator plugin installed** message.

## Testing

Open a new ChatGPT chat and type **@lumen5** in the message box, then select **Lumen5 Video Creator**.

Ask ChatGPT to create a short test video in Lumen5. When it's done, you'll see a **Completed!** message with a link to view your video in Lumen5.

**Tip: If you have other instructions (eg. a specific template/blueprint/voice to use, more detail about the style of the video, etc), feel free to also include those in your message to ChatGPT**
