How to create an AI avatar video (beta)
Note: Publishing an AI avatar video is exclusive to paid plans, but free users can create drafts to try it out.
To create an AI avatar video, first select your template and format and then choose the AI Avatar option.
You can import text from a news article or blog post, copy and paste it directly into the editable window, upload a PDF, or outline an idea!
There are 2 options to transform your text into a video. You can Continue to use the AI script composer and summarize your content, or Skip and use all sentences if you want to use your text exactly as written:
If you click continue, you'll see the AI script composer! More about how that works here.
Click on the avatar’s name on the left side and a modal pops up where you can preview and select an avatar:
Use the play button to preview an avatar, then click on the avatar to select it.
To change your script content, just click on the text you want to change and type as usual. You can click on the Play button in each block to preview the AI avatar’s voiceover. If you don't like how it sounds, or there's an audio anomaly, you'll want to regenerate that audio block by clicking on the vertical 3 dots in block you'd like to regenerate:
💡 The voiceover can be changed once the video has been converted, but generating smaller chunks of the voiceover tends to produce more variation in tone throughout your video. To ensure the most seamless video, preview the voiceover blocks on this page and regenerate any parts that don't sound quite right.
Click ✨ Convert to video and watch as a video is generated with your AI avatar.
💡 The AI avatar that you see in your video is a preview and it’s not synced yet to your script. It’ll be synced with your script after your video is published.
Your original text will appear in the Source tab for your reference:

AI avatar videos use a transcript of the voiceover as the timeline for the video with scenes called overlays placed on top. You can click here for more about editing overlays and using the transcript to navigate your video.
If you need to change the voiceover once your video has been created, you can do that! Click on the overlay in the transcript that you'd like to edit, then click again so the Edit button appears:
Click on Edit, and then type away! Once you're happy with the corrections that you've made, click outside of the transcript or press enter. Our bots will regenerate that piece of the voiceover for you, without touching the rest of your scenes.
💡 Regenerating large portions of your AI avatar voiceover can lead to timing challenges later on, so try to edit smaller sections whenever possible!
Once you’re happy with your video, click on the Publish button. Your AI avatar will be synced with your script after the video is rendered.
