Voiceover Beta vs. Legacy Voiceover

Lumen5 has 2 versions of voiceover! Right now we're experimenting with a beta voiceover tool that allows you to upload a voiceover and build your video on top of it.

To turn this feature on, toggle on the voiceover beta settings from your account settings.

Once it's activated, you can create videos by uploading a voiceover in an MP3 file and adding overlays. More about that here.

Questions:

How is this version different from the legacy voiceover version?

This beta version of voiceover allows you to upload or record a voiceover at the beginning of your video, and then use the automatically generated transcript to layer video scenes on top. The legacy tool requires that you create all of your video scenes first, and then record a voiceover for the entire thing in one take at the end.

Can I use an AI voiceover?

Not yet!

What if I don't like the beta voiceover tool?

Please let us know! Betas are a really important step in figuring out what changes we need to make before a feature is fully released, so any feedback you can provide about why you didn't like this feature is really helpful. You can turn off the beta voiceover feature by toggling the setting to off in your account settings.

What happens to videos that I made previously with the legacy voiceover tool?

Those videos are still available in your account! You can download them from your dashboard anytime. If you want to edit videos with a legacy voiceover, you'll need to turn off the beta voiceover feature in order to load the creator.

I'm still confused.
