Keyboard Shortcuts in the Lumen5 Editor

Keyboard shortcuts help you edit and review your videos faster. This article lists the shortcuts available in the main editor and on video preview, share and embed pages.

Main editor (slide list)

Shortcut

What it does

Ctrl+Z

Undo your last change.

Ctrl+Shift+Z

Redo the change you just undid.

Alt+Up / Alt+Down

Move the selected text asset up or down within its asset group.

Delete / Backspace

Delete the selected text, media, chart or icon.

Tip: Delete and Backspace only remove an asset when you aren't typing in a text field. If your cursor is inside a text box, these keys delete characters instead. To delete the whole asset, click outside the text field, select the asset, then press Delete or Backspace.

Video preview, share and embed pages

These shortcuts work when you're watching a video on a preview, share or embed page.

Shortcut

What it does

Space or K

Play or pause the video.

M

Mute or unmute the audio.

J or Left arrow

Jump back 10 seconds.

L or Right arrow

Jump forward 10 seconds.

Shift+Left / Shift+Right

Step back or forward one frame.

Tip: Frame stepping works best while the video is paused. It lets you find an exact moment, like a transition or the frame you want to check.
